For an entry level flash I would say this is an excellent value. Performs almost just as good as more expensive flashes. Easy to navigate settings and swap things on the fly. Construction is top notch and feels built to last.

This flash has great value for the price! Finding a flash that has TTL function for such a low price point is hard to do. This flash has all of the basic functionality is that you need to get started with your flash photography. You can choose to use manual or TTO with exposure compensation And can use it in slave mode if you want to use it off camera. There isn’t too many extra settings that makes it complicated so it’s beginner friendly. I also really like the lock to keep your flash in place. This is something I always look for because once I got a flash, and it kept sliding off. Not only does it have a lock, but it has a lock cover to keep it more protected.

I got this to use on a D800, and in no uncertain terms, it is an absolute gem. The short version is, TTL works beautifully. Lighting was smooth and not "hot" at all. I can't say how long batteries last because we only shot a few dozen shots with it, but my advice is invest in Panasonic Eneloop Pros. In terms of value, I don't think you can get more flash for less money...ANYWHERE. If I had to wish at it, I wish they had made this wirelessly compatible with their QPro transmitter. Godox has figured out the real money is found in making EVERYTHING compatible with their wireless Tx system. Will Neewer figure out the same thing and ignite an "aftermarket speedlight war"? Let's hope so. Because Neewer has put out a seriously good flash for the money here.If you need a flash, and your budget is tight (~$100), you can't get better than this, period. You're getting a flash with the functionality of the OEM-branded flash at at 1/3 to 1/6 the price. What do you give up? Not very much. This budget blaster from Neewer covers up to a 200mm lens. Which, frankly, at this price point is INCREDIBLE. Perhaps the recycle time is a BIT slower than the Nikon powerhouses, but not by very much...microseconds...the main thing you give up here I guess is having a big glorious "Nikon" silk-screened on the body of your flash. Yeah, I can live without that.If you like the flash, but don't want to feed it AA's (or use rechargeable AA's), take a look at the next "step up" in the Neewer linup, the Z760, which is pretty much this flash, but powered by a lithium battery pack.In no uncertain terms, this is a price / performance leader in every way. You get so much flash here for so little money that I can't not recommend it. By golly, TTL even works. It's worth every penny they're asking for it, hands down. 5 stars.

I had a Sigma flash unit for 17 years. It worked but always felt kind of cheap. This one does everything I want and seems to have much better quality than my old Sigma. I bought rechargeable batteries but it works fine on AA alkalines too.

Good quality flash speedlite from Neewer made from good materials and is built to last.I have been using this for just over three months as an off camera flash with a Godox trigger & receiver and as you would expect I have had no issues, I also tested as an on camera flash with a Canon EOS 90D, 250D & 7D and I can confirm It works with all three cameras BUT once again just like another Neewer flash speedlite I have if you use the speedlite in the camera hot shoe and use the camera settings to change the flash power you can only go down to 1/128 but if you use the dial on the speedlite you can go down to 1/256 and it fires at this power this happens on all three cameras I guess there must be a reason for this but I am not sure why and to be honest I have not looked into it, for me personally it is not a game changer as if the flash is connected to the camera I tend to use the flash controls and not the camera as it is faster. The flash speedlite requires four AA batteries, I have been using rechargeable batteries and I am getting very good battery life but of course it will depend on the power setting you have the flash on, I would have preferred if it had a rechargeable battery BUT I can not complain about the battery life I am getting with the AA batteries. The buttons/controls on the flash speedlite is very responsive and very easy to setup.Overall I am happy with the flash speedlite BUT I do feel it is slightly overpriced.

Let me start by saying that this is a great flashlight at a fraction of the cost of the more expensive Nikon models. I really have nothing but positive things to say about this product. It really looks and functions just like the top-of-the-line Nikon Speedlite SB-5000. Even the controls on the back are very similar to the Nikon's model. Overall, the build quality is excellent, it feels very sturdy and has a good weight to it. The head moves freely yet firmly holds its place. On the back, there is a large and easy to read backlit LCD display. It has hot shoe that can communicate with your camera and is fully compatible with Nikon DSLR cameras. It has TTL auto flash capability that simplifies achieving optimal exposure. With ±3 stops flash exposure compensation and a high-speed sync (HSS) of 1/8000s, capturing fast-moving subjects becomes an easy task. The high guide number (GN60) of this flashlight ensures strong and stable light output, while the innovative TCM (TTL Convert to Manual) function adds flexibility to my photography workflow. By combining TTL metering with manual adjustments, I can fine-tune the amount of light precisely, resulting in accurate exposure every time. It offers a variety of flash modes, including TTL, Manual, and Multi flash, catering to different shooting scenarios. Whether I'm adjusting flash output in 0.1 increments or capturing multiple phases of movement with Multi mode, this flashlight delivers consistent performance and great results. Additionally, it can function as both a master and slave flash in S1/S2 optical control mode, providing versatile lighting options within a 10-meter range. It can be powered by 4 AA MH-Ni batteries, it also supports the CP-E4 external power supply (both not included). With approximately 230 full-power flashes, rapid recycling times, and a flash duration of 1/20000s, I'm sure this flashlight will satisfy even the most demanding professional photographers.*** TL;DR ***This NEEWER NW700-N TTL Flash Speedlite flashlight offers top-notch performance at a fraction of the cost of Nikon models. It resembles the Nikon Speedlite SB-5000 with similar controls and build quality. Features include TTL auto flash, ±3 stops flash exposure compensation, high-speed sync, and innovative TTL Convert to Manual function. It supports various flash modes, functions as a master or slave flash, and has rapid recycling times. With strong light output and versatile options, it's an excellent choice for professional photographers. Solid 5 stars product!+++ Pros +++1) Excellent performance at a lower cost compared to Nikon models.2) High build quality and sturdy construction.3) Similar functionality to top-of-the-line Nikon models.4) Versatile flash modes including TTL, Manual, and Multi flash.5) TTL auto flash capability with ±3 stops flash exposure compensation.6) TTL Convert to Manual function for precise adjustments.7) Functions as both a master and slave flash in S1/S2 optical control mode.8) Rapid recycling times and long battery life.— Cons —Really nothing to complain about here.
