These are a cool idea to help cushion your backpack or bag's shoulder strap. They inflate well but take a lot of pumps to do it. Make sure you don't over inflate them though. They have a recommendation in the instructions for just how filled up you should have them.I'm using them for some of my photo and video gear bags instead of a backpack, and they work good so far. They are easy to put on and inflate, and the air stays in them.If your existing shoulder strap is already pretty padded, you probably won't tell much of a difference switching to these. On the other hand if you have no padded strap then these will be a more comfortable choice.

Opening the package it felt like someone had wrapped bubble wrap in bookbag material, and functionally that is almost exactly what it is. I used it primarily for my slings and not for my backpacks. When I tried it on my backpack it felt weird at first, and it did a GREAT job at redistributing the weight, but a heavy load is a heavy load, I didn't feel as though it was going to make my trek substantially better outside of straps cutting into my arm. Where it really shined for me though was my sling bags. I have a large selection of slings, and while my Chrome Industry bags have thick and wide straps, I have a lot of low cost straps that don't and become uncomfortable after extended use, especially if I'm REALLY pushing them with camera gear or my Steamdeck. Putting this on those sling bags was a god-send for pressure. Yes trying to swing it from behind you to infront of you and vice-versa becomes a little awkward, but that didn't affect me as I just keep my bags in front of me. For bookbags and laptop bags this is a 4, but for sling bags (if you carry heavy stuff in them) this is an easy 5.

I like the idea of these devices. But practically, they do tend to work their way out from between my backpack straps and my shoulders. It doesn't happen except after a while, and after I'm undoubtedly shifting the load side to side to get more comfortable. I think on a lighter bag, they'd be perfect.

Where do they find all these great ideas!? NEEWER, holy Moses, seriously solving some of the biggest issues photographers struggle with.Okay, the premise here is your shoulder straps aren't as comfortable and breathable as they could be and they'd be right. These backpack strap pads inflate and deflate adding breathable cushioning for your shoulders. On each strap, there are two larger squares, one which inflates the pads and the other deflates them. I'll be honest, I was surprised when I first tried it that they worked as well as they do.As you can see I attached them to my Summit Creative 40L backpack and I'm sure glad I did, super comfortable.Overall, if you carry any amount of heavy camera equipment and want your pack(s) to be more comfortable on your shoulders, then definitely pick up at least one set of these - I'll be getting a few more myself.

I have a Swiss Gear backpack that I use as my work bag, and the right strap's padding has been flattened after about 5 years of usually slinging it over one shoulder. This inflatable straps have brought back the comfort of carrying it every day. Just carrying it over one shoulder is a little more slippery than before, but it works. Pumping is pretty easy, but it takes a lot of reps. Be sure to install it with the pump and deflator at the bottom.

These work best with two straps over your shoulder like the backpacks they are designed for. When filled with air they provide a great deal of comfort that other rubber padded straps do not. The filling and adjustment of the air cushions is very easy and works very well. The pump action is understandably somewhat slow as you only have a small square pad to use to pump up many more pads. You do not need nor want them to be too firm, just enough to provide a smooshy cushion of air between your shoulder and the strap. You can bleed air out easily to get just the right cushioning. The back of the pads have liberal use of anti-slip rubber and silicone strips to keep them from sliding on your straps (shown in my picture).I wish they would work better when used as padding for a single over the shoulder strap as on a heavy camera bag or equipment case. The problem lies with the material that covers the part that sits on your shoulder. It is a relatively slick nylon material that slides off your shoulder too easily. If they had incorporated some lines of silicone on the air squares, that would stop the sliding. A small addition of some anti-slip material would make them so much more versatile. I hoped to use them on a single strap over-the-shoulder camera bag and while they work well enough they could be made better for that additional purpose.
