I'm not sure if the Tiffen filters are better or not, but for the price of both of these, you can't go wrong. I use this on my 85mm Sony Prime. The softness is just enough to give edges a bit of a haze. Looks really good for portraits. These actually have a great effect in night shooting too.

先行して1/2のブラックミストフィルターを購入していましたが、フレア現象がキツすぎて不自然さが目立つ結果になりました。逆光を取り込む場合は1/4または1/8でなければと思い本製品を買いました。ただブラックミストフィルターは撮影環境（どれぐらい光が入るか）、シチュエーションなどを細部に渡って把握しカメラ設定を合わせていくものだとおもいます。自分もかなりの枚数を撮影したつもりですが、1/4と1/8どちらを使えば良いのかいまだに迷うことがあります。経験値がモノをいうフィルタだとおもいます。ただしハマれば本当に美麗な画がとれます。本フィルターは他社製フィルターと比較しても遜色ない仕上がりになると思います。

I ordered these mostly for doing night photography for what it does to the lights. – See photos.I’ll likely also use these filters when filming for an upcoming project, for some of the scenes, to go with a slightly foggy effect. These filters seem to be good quality and they work great! The effect of these filters gives the photos and videos a kind of filmic and cinematic feel to the results. If shooting photos in RAW format, and if you are into post processing, you can create this effect in your editing software, but it’s much more convenient when the filter can do it in real time, at the end of your lens. I didn’t notice any artifacts in the results. (Note that the uploaded photos have been resampled at a lower quality for size and posting, but the originals look even better.I am very happy with this Neewer 2 Piece (1/4 & 1/8) 67mm Black Diffusion Lens Filter Kit. I feel that the price is very reasonable, making this an excellent value. 5 STARS!

The two filters came in two different size cases which is strange since they are identical diameters (67mm threads). The larger case of the 1/8 filter is a bit inconvenient for me as I have storage in my camera roller bag sized just right for the smaller filter case. Oh well.The filters are both very thin so there's no danger of vignetting. They are easy to grip and screw on and off of my lens smoothly, tightening securely without sticking.In use they appear to be virtually interchangeable with their Tiffen Black Pro Mist counterparts, with roughly the same slight exposure reduction, maybe a quarter stop.The 1/8 and 1/4 softening effects are very subtle. These filters are excellent for shooting people; especially nice for video but great for stills as well. They’ll give your video footage a more cinematic film look.I can recommend them.
