If this is your only shot for a quick release magnet mechanism, I think you can trust this one. Magnet is very strong. There is a button that clicks when the mechanism locks. First, you have to press that button to release the system. I have not used it in low temperatures yet. But if it can stand cold it is definitely is the way to go for a quick release system for gopro.

I'm replacing another brand of quick mounts that were upgraded into "non-backward compatibility." So, i'm changing brands. The Neewer seem to have very strong magnets. Strong magnets are very important. I also think i like the locks. I've never had a quick release mount without locks come break free. But, i guess it can happen. It has been a little frustrating trying to release these with one handed at times.I do wish i could buy more 1/4-20 mounts without having to buy all 3 mount types. That's a pain. i have paid for 4 complete sets of these just to get the 1/4-20 mounts. Not cool!I hope Neewer keeps backward compatibility in mind if there is an upgrade in the future.

they work. little big and bulking. need to twist to unlock and the magnet could be stronger.

Using these with my AKASO and my DJI OSMO ACTION CAMERA 3 and I love it. Helps me to connect it with everything! My selfie stick, with my gimbal and with my helmet.Magnetic grip and lock mechanism are really strong and sturdy.

I was a little cautious about these things at first, but after using them for a few weeks, all my fears were completely unfounded. The magnetic locking is very sturdy, and engages with a satisfying "click". Removal is just as easy and I don't have to mess with thumb screws anymore for my cameras.If you're like me and want to record your rides from multiple angles at once, these are a must-have!
