I bought this as an easy low cost option to balance one of my heavier lenses on a monopod while keeping the overall weight down. It did the trick for what I intended to use it for.

I needed this adapter for another Bogen head and it holds firmly to the Manfrotto QR plate. The clamp holds all my Arca-Swiss pattern brackets just fine, even with a 400mm lens.

Larger and sturdier than expected.I used this to convert my Velbon Delta tripod to take gear with Arca-Swiss type fittings.I don't trust a single 1/4 screw or the Velbon lever mechanism to take the combined weight of the Arca-Swiss clamp, lens and camera and chose this one because it has three fixings and can be securely clamped over the entire existing quick release. All I needed was a couple of 1 1/4 long 1/4 UNC bolts and a strip of steel to go underneath.
