So to start, I am not a professional photographer. I bought a ZV-E1 to start vlogging, and came across this cage. I've been using it for a while now, and it has made it easier to hold the camera. It allows me to connect my accessories to it easily, and feels like it's better protected now. Swapping batteries is a pain, and I'm sure if you were doing dynamic, time sensitive photography, that would be a big drawback. I use it mostly to document traveling, so it's not that crucial for me. I think do your research a bit, and find out if the benefits outweigh the drawbacks.

Its a great camera mount has mainy points for extra attachments. I would recommend getting a external grip if your going to be using this without a handle or other rigs

We got this mainly for the hdmi clamp, as everyone who knows micro-hdmi, knows it's a pretty flimsy interface which is prone to falling out or worse, being damaged when under pressure. This cage has a lot of features - we outfitted it with a neewer nato rail handle, and the whole rig is super sturdy.

This I have bought for brother in law who stays abroad, he can't find a camera case there actually, but he is very happy with the product and given the feedback as below, Lighter than other materials but harder than most of them, this aluminum alloy creates a camera cage that is at once protective and convenient, especially for the Sony ZV-E1. At a paltry 4.9 ounce, this lens is designed for wide coverage yet still allows quick access to the camera’s ports, buttons, and adjustable LCD display. It comprises many mounting posts such as 1/4″ and 3/8″ threads, ARRI location holes, cold shoe, support for microphone, monitor, LED light, and accessory. It is mountable on tripods vertically or horizontally, it is equipped with NATO rails which allow fast addition of accessories. The cage features an Arca-type foundation that enables interchangeable replacement of devices; the setup is thus appropriate for many stabilizers and tripod heads. This also features a removable HDMI Cable Clamp that ensures safe signal passage. It’s worth noting that the cage protects these features of the camera, namely its articulating LCD screen and functional buttons. A soft rubber base provides steadiness while mounting and protects your camera’s surface. This flexible and mobile camera cage would be perfect for Sony ZV-E1 users who want to improve their shooting.

The Neewer cage for the ZV-E1 has a sleek design thanks to its one-piece construction vs the bolted-together top, bottom, and sides of some other budget-priced cages, and it pairs its good looks with plenty of attachment points -- all with an imperceptible weight penalty.My favourite feature is a boring, but necessary one: the built-in Arca plate. The included HDMI cable clamp is useful and functional, but Smallrig's implementation is easier to use.The integrated NATO rail on the side is a handy feature, but keep in mind that adding a side grip will interfere with the screen's flip-out feature -- this is not Neewer's fault, but it's worth noting. To get the most benefit out of the NATO rail + a side grip, you'll have to deal with the screen staying in its folded position, add an external monitor, or find a grip with an unusually long arm.Even when using the camera without any attachments, the cage is light enough to leave installed most of the time and slim enough that I can still easily stow the camera in its bag. I don't think the ZV-E1 feels particularly fragile, but it's nice to have a bit of bump protection "just in case."

Although my Sony ZV-E1 is a crucial piece of my camera equipment, there are some aspects I don't like about it. In spite of its powerful nature, it is very small and fragile. I was considering getting a rubber or leather case, but a cage seemed more reliable. Neewer makes such great products and I look forward to seeing what they're going to do next. This cage saved my life.As well as protecting my camera, this cage assists me in maximizing its potential by providing additional features. With all the Mounting Points, it will be possible to attach a bit of everything to the Sony ZV-E1, microphone, lights, screen, external power and so much more. It makes the Sony ZV-E1 an even more professional and serious machine for enthusiasts and beginners alike. Installation is very straightforward. You simply slide it into place and tighten it.It is very lightweight and adds minimal bulk to the camera, allowing maximum portability for my camera. We always want to keep the E1 small and compact. The cage is designed to be durable and resistant to wear and tear, helping you make your camera last longer. The cage also allows easy access to the memory card slot and all of the camera's buttons and dials. It also protects your camera.In spite of the fact that the SmallRig version has a handle, I do not believe it is essential for photographers. It may be useful for recording video on the go, but then again you probably already use a gimbal anyway. The cage fits perfectly, snugly holding the camera in place without allowing any movement. The camera's flip-out monitor can be rotated fully in this cage unless you use the HDMI cable clamped in place, which prevents the monitor from fully rotating when fully open.All in all, a solid cage that helps you make the most of the Sony E1's potential. You can add a little bit of protection and allow yourself to add more accessories, without breaking the bank. This is one of the cheapest options on the market and for me that merited five stars. Highly Recommend.Hope this review helps someone out.
